The GazettE - 001
I have officially retired from iconing and graphic making. I just want to thank everyone who followed this journal and my website all these years. Without you, I would have given up ages ago but your encouraging words always kept me going. I've had fun, but, as a good friend said to me, "when it's no longer fun, it's time to move on."

So, that's what I'm doing. This journal is not going anywhere and neither is the website - at least, not for a long, long time. This way, what I have made can still be downloaded.

First of all I'd like to thank you for all the hard work you've already done for all of us. While I'm sad to see you retired, I completely understand. I'm a graphic artist myself but when it starts to feel like a job, it's time to take a break.

I was really a fan of you (and [info]xenylamine actually). Very clean icons (and it helped we share fandoms) with an edgy style that's not super girly like a lot of the stuff you find. I don't make icons much but you're definitely inspirational of the style I'd like to attain.

I just read your post in [info]ff_awards and I'm definitely saddened to hear of your retirement; I remember your icons and textures to be of great inspiration to me when I first started iconning, so this is definitely a blow. All the same, I wish you good luck on whatever you embark upon next! (:

Also, I wanted to ask you about [info]ff_awards itself. I'd really hate to see such a great community go, so if you don't have any better candidates, I'd love to take over the comm for you.

I myself pulled out of the icon making last fall out of sheer lack of free time. Now that school is slowing down I'm making a (slow) comeback and I must admit that discovering you have left the world is rather shocking.

All things change, even the LJ iconing world.

You were always a huge name. Thank you so much for setting the bar high. I'm sure it was an encouragement to a lot of people besides me. :)
